Who Doesn't Love A Sleepover?
Bring your passport, pack your favorite pajamas, and come join Clarity and Juliet on sleepovers all over the world. Imagine what it's like to be with your best friend, spending the night in an ancient Egyptian Pyramid, in Machu Picchu in Peru, on the beaches of Africa, or at a cricket game in Australia! Find out what pain du chocolat means in French (chocolate bread), watch a dancer in Paraguay dance with 5 bottles balanced on her head, or swim in the Jellyfish Lake where the jellyfish don’t sting!
Read the books, join the online interactive, own your own Sleepover GearPack, and get your own Sleepover Diplomatic Passport! Of course, it’s not just Clarity and Juliet on these sleepovers. They meet and adopt Zigi (short for Zigmund), the stray Hungarian Pointer they find in Budapest, Hungary and Coco, the alley cat they find in Mali. Juliet and Clarity also get invited to an organic farm in Brazil, where they make their electricity out of water, and to an orphanage in South Africa, where the children gather every day to sing, write poetry, dance and do art.
Eventually, they meet two boys who also go on sleepovers all over the world – stay tuned for these adventures and more!
For Potential Partners
At its core, The Global Sleepover invites children to accompany fictional characters on sleepovers at international locations through books, Sleepover GearPacks, online interactive options, and more. Everywhere becomes a Sleepover – imagine the adventures of a Sleepover at Easter Island, Sleepover in an ancient Mayan ruin, Sleepover in Iceland, and so forth.
As the series develops, Sleepover plots will also, non-pedantically, educate children on social responsibility and forward-thinking solutions. Examples include a Sleepover at an eco-community in Brazil or an art therapy orphanage in Africa. The concept is piloted by two characters, Clarity (age 11) and Juliet (age 10.5), who go on the sleepovers. As the series develops, two boys (ages 11) will be introduced to go on sleepovers of their own!
About the creators of The Global Sleepover:
Geeta Raj Founder
Even though Geeta is an adult and now lives in Washington, DC, she still loves sleepovers and slumber parties. When she was younger, she had a tradition of sleepovers with her closest friends - and has always remembered how much fun they had! Geeta also loves to visit unique locations in different countries – she has already visited many countries. So all Geeta did, one day when talking to her friend David, is put together sleepovers and the world. This is the way she ended up creating The Global Sleepover. The character of Clarity is based on Geeta’s 8-year old god-daughter, who also loves Sleepovers and to dance, sing and make jokes. (Geeta and Clarity had a lot of fun designing the character of Clarity).
Geeta works in international development and humanitarian assistance. In the last 10 years, she's lived and worked in London, Afghanistan, Albania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Kosovo and Montenegro. Her first love is Creative Writing – she holds a BA in Creative Writing from the University of Houston. Geeta has an exposure in the two subject matters perfect for The Global Sleepover Series– creative writing and international adventures! Originally Geeta is from Boston, MA and Houston, TX, although has not lived in either in many years.

David Studdert Partner
David was raised in Northern Virginia and grew up going on out of the ordinary sleepovers. When he was 12, he use to spend a lot of time at the White House. Between swimming in the White House pool, bowling in the White House bowling alley, and watching movies in the White House movie theater there wasn't much time for sleep but sometimes that's the best part about Sleepovers! Although it' been a long time since those summers at the White House, he shared all his experiences for the first book, Sleepover at the White House. Geeta and David used to work together in Washington, DC but he now lives with his wife and baby girl at Sundance, Utah, where he runs a venture capital business. David studied International Law and Diplomacy at Brigham Young University and has a passion for the great outdoors, traveling abroad, and most of all… Sleepovers.

Children as Consultants: Little Entrepreneurs
We at the Global Sleepover look forward to hearing the ideas and thoughts of children – and depend on children as creative consultants for new sleepover ideas and constructive criticism. We believe in listening to children, to their creativity, and building The Global Sleepover world based on a world that children are already comfortable in.
